Q3 Blog 7
In Act2 Scene2, from the conversation between Hermia and Lysander in the wood, I understand that the stereotypical characteristic of relationship between men and women was conservatism. Lysander wanted to push against the so-called restriction of their sex. When Lysander and Hermia slept, Lysander tried to persuade Hermia to have sex with him before they got married. However, Hermia was stereotypical person who thought have sex after get married. She said, 'but, gentle, friend, for love and courtesy lie further off, in human modesty; such separation as may well be said becomes a virtuous bachelor and a maid, so far be distant.' Even she loves Lysander deeply; she still thinks they should sleep together after marriage.
